Infant Programme
Age range 6 weeks – 18 months
Adult/child ratio 1:3
Schoolhouse Playcare offers care for infants 6 weeks – 18 months of age with a ratio of one staff for every three children. Our Sinclair location in Whitby and our Pine Ridge location in Pickering, provide a safe, warm and caring environment with trained staff and activities designed to stimulate children and encourage them to explore and learn. The curriculum areas covered are Listening and Talking; Physical Activities; Creative Activities; Learning from the World.
Communication with parents is very important. The staff discuss the child’s day directly with parents, and fill in a daily information sheet that details the individual routine their child followed that day.
Our goal is to provide a home from home for the infants and we strive to meet the child’s individual needs as they grow and develop.
