Schoolhouse Playcare Centres believes that children learn best in an environment that values play, and the learning that takes place from purposeful play experiences. All Schoolhouse Playcare Centres locations adhere to the ELECT framework (Early Learning for Every Child Today, http://www.children.gov.on.ca/htdocs/English/topics/earlychildhood/early_learning_for_every_child_today.aspx), which is a guideline to supporting children's learning. All programs reflect a curriculum that responds to the children's interests, and documents the children's growth and learning as it occurs. Schoolhouse Playcare Centres programs meet the developmental needs of each individual child, and are designed to include activities that cover all domains of development including social; emotional; communication, language and literacy; cognitive; and physical. Each specific program reflects the unique needs of the age group and the developmental stages of those children.
