Camps & Summer Programs

(5-14 years)

Summer Licensed Programs (3.8 – 12 years)

We offer full day licensed summer programs for kindergarten and school-age at several locations throughout Durham Region. These programs are licensed under the CCEYA (Child Care and Early Years Act) and provide children with fun, engaging activities like group games and sports, creative arts, active outdoor play and neighbourhood excursions to parks and splash pads. These programs are a great choice for children who benefit from the familiarity of their neighbourhood school and community.

Summer Camp (5-14 years)

Our camp programs are supervised by an experienced SPC supervisor, summer camp and community development.  Programs are led by camp counsellors and program coordinators who are carefully screened, selected and trained.  Our camp team participates in a variety of training opportunities including High Five® Principles of Healthy Child Development, and they fully trained in First Aid and CPR.

March Break Overnight Camp (9-12 years)

Our March Break Overnight Camp is a unique 4-night, 5-day overnight camp experience in partnership with YMCA Camp Pinecrest, specifically designed with youth 9-12 years in mind!  Campers will sleep in winterized cabins and dine together in a winterized dining hall. Campers will participate in a variety of outdoor experiences that may include Nordic skiing, snow tubing, snowshoeing/nature hikes, broomball, back country skiing, low and high ropes, archery, natural art experiences, hikes, quinzhee building and campfire building. Evening programming will keep campers engaged and entertained as they participate in traditional camp theme nights! All programming experiences will be facilitated by YMCA Camp Pinecrest Outdoor Educators and groups will be supervised/supported by SPC supervisors. Bus transportation is included.

March Break Outdoor Day Camp (8-12 years)

Join us at Claremont Nature Centre for a fun-filled day (or five!!!) of adventure in the great outdoors! This program is perfect for your outdoor enthusiast who is eager to explore the forest, participate in active games and team building activities, create natural art masterpieces, build shelters, and cook tasty camp treats over a fire they worked with others to build!  If we are lucky to have snow, be prepared for fun snow-inspired programming. While we will be spending most of our time in the outdoor environment, campers will have access to indoor/heated space with washrooms, and to use for eating, creative experiences, and some team building games.
